Cleburne Birthing Center - Medical & Dental
http://www.cleburnebirthingcenter.com

The Cleburne Birthing Center is located in the heart of Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. Our goal is to give families an alternative to hospital birth. The center is designed to give a private, safe, family centered location where women can give birth comfortably. The home-like setting includes a full kitchen, a birthing suite that can accommodate waterbirths and a courtyard for families and laboring moms to take advantage of the great Texas weather. The center provides full prenatal, birth and post partum care and also offers gynecological (GYN) and family planning care thru menopause.

The Cleburne Birthing Center focuses on pregnancy and birth as a normal, healthy event. Special attention is paid to the physical status of the woman and her baby as well as the emotional status of the expectant family. We believe each woman has the right to safe care that fits her unique lifestyle. We are sensitive to and respectful of cultural, social, spiritual, and traditional practices. We work toward strengthening a woman's trust in her body and building her confidence about pregnancy and birth, allowing her to step into parenthood with greater assurance. Come in for a tour and our friendly staff will be more then happy to answer all your questions.

Midwives give mother and baby check ups at each visit. They listen to the heartbeat, check the size of the baby, check the mother's blood pressure and have detailed conversations with the mother about her health. As primary caregivers, midwives make prenatal visits and provide prenatal education. They also provide medications, order laboratory and ultrasound testing during pregnancy and after your baby is born.

Midwives work in small groups to support their clients and are on call 24-hours a day. You will get to know a small group of midwives (2-4) to ensure that you are comfortable and familiar with the caregivers who will be at your birth. Generally, two midwives will be at the birth and share the care throughout the pregnancy, labor, birth and after the birth for six weeks.

They also offer education, counseling, advocacy and emotional support. Each midwife will take the time to build a relationship of trust with you. If medical problems develop during pregnancy, labor, birth or after, midwives work closely with specialist physicians and nursing staff to ensure proper care.

Here at the Cleburne Birthing Center we believe birth is a normal, natural process that should be family centered. Our focus is to allow the birthing family to feel at home and relaxed while birthing their baby.
