In 1967, Darrel Slinkard opened the Cleburne Saddle Shop in Cleburne, Texas. He quickly became well known for making high quality custom saddles. Cleburne Saddles soon became the reining saddles of choice for riders who were serious competitors, or everyday riders who wanted the best ride and quality available. Reining legends Bill Horn and Tim McQuay were the first two men to win a million dollars in the reining industry. Both Bill Horn and Tim McQuay won their first million riding a Cleburne Saddle that was hand made by Darrel Slinkard. Darrel and his son Cody Slinkard are still making the finest custom saddle for serious competitors and everyday riders. Every style of saddle is available from cutting and roping saddles to pleasure and show saddles, and every saddle is hand made to meet the performance and comfort needs of the horse and the rider.

The Slinkard family is dedicated to making the best custom saddles in the world while using the best quality U.S. materials to make them with. We make our own trees and design them, along with the saddles, for close contact to the horse for better control and performance while providing both horse and rider with the comfort that Cleburne Saddles is famous for.

You can choose from several different designs of silver conchos, corner plates, cantle plates, swell caps, horns, horn caps, tips, gullet conchos, and more. There are also personalized silver options available such as names and designs engraved in the silver.

Cleburne Saddles will never subcontract another saddle maker to make a saddle, which is a common practice for many companies today. Every Cleburne Saddle is made by the Slinkard family in Texas. You will know who is making your saddle everytime. The Slinkard family makes every part of the Cleburne Saddle, including the tree. Once you have chosen the saddle that is perfect for you and your order is placed, your Cleburne Saddle will be delivered in four weeks. If there is extensive customizing on your saddle, it may lengthen your delivery time by two weeks.


Warranty

Cleburne Saddles come with a lifetime warranty on every part excluding the stirrup leathers and friction parts such as wear leathers. The trees are also made by the Slinkard family and are included in the lifetime warranty. If there are any defects in the saddle you buy from Cleburne Saddles, send the saddle back and it will be repaired at no charge. If the saddle cannot be repaired, Cleburne Saddles will build you a new one at no charge.
